Mouse Swiss Albino embryo fibroblast. Derived from Swiss mouse embryos this cell line secretes collagen and hyaluronic acid. Unlike 3T3, the 3T6 line is not contact inhibited.

    3T6 Swiss Albino Cells are derived from the tissue of Swiss mouse embryonic tissue. This cell line exhibits fibroblast-like morphology and grows under adherent culture conditions. The karyotype of 3T6 Swiss Albino Cells is unstable, with a stemline chromosome number ranging from 78 to 81. These cells are non-tumorigenic and have been confirmed negative for the ectromelia virus (mousepox). In vitro, 3T6 cells proliferate continuously and can be subcultured at a ratio of 1:10 every 2–3 days.
