    The 4T1 cell line, derived from a murine mammary carcinoma, is widely used to establish syngeneic tumor models in immunocompetent BALB/c mice, mimicking stage IV human triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). 4T1 cells can be orthotopically transplanted into the mammary fat pad to form primary tumors, followed by spontaneous metastasis to distant organs (e.g., lungs, liver), making it suitable for both non-surgical studies of primary tumor progression and post-surgical models of metastatic recurrence.
