    The A2058 cell line is a human malignant melanoma cell line derived from a lymph node metastasis of a 43-year-old Caucasian male patient. The cells display an epithelial-like morphology and exhibit adherent growth in monolayer culture, with a doubling time of approximately 27 hours. A2058 harbors the BRAF V600D mutation, a variant within the MAPK pathway commonly implicated in melanoma. The cells express invasion-associated proteins such as type IV collagenase, tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-2 (TIMP-2), laminin receptors, alongside elevated levels of nerve growth factor (NGF).
