Cell Name: Ca Ski

Ca Ski Cell Line is from human; Sex: F; Tissue: uterine cervix; Morphology: epithelial-like; Profile: Human epidermoid cervical cancer cell line.

  • Description
Ca Ski is a human epidermoid cervical carcinoma cell line derived from metastatic lesions in the small bowel mesentery of a 40-year-old Caucasian female patient. This cell line exhibits an epithelial-like, polygonal morphology with adherent growth properties. Its doubling time is approximately 72 hours. Ca Ski harbors complex karyotypic abnormalities, including recurrent chromosomal translocations [der(5)t(5;8)(p13;q23)] and deletions in the 5p11/5q11 regions. A defining feature of this cell line is the integration of high-copy human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) DNA and sequences related to HPV-18. It expresses the β-subunit human chorionic gonadotropin (β-hCG), tumor-associated antigens and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase type B (G6PD-B). Ca Ski demonstrates tumorigenic potential in xenograft models and has been widely used to study cancer metastasis mechanisms, particularly in migration and invasion assays.
