    Ca9-22 is a human gingival squamous cell carcinoma cell line that was originally isolated from the gingiva. Ca9-22 exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent culture properties. This cell line carries a mutant form of p53 (p53R248W). In LDH staining assays, Ca9-22 shows a positive reaction. Many Ca9-22 cells display a negative response to alkaline phosphatase (Al-P). The chromosomal characteristics and tumorigenicity of this cell line are under continued investigation.
