    CCF-STTG1 is a human astrocytoma cell line that was originally isolated from the brain of a White, 68-year-old, female patient with astrocytoma (glioblastoma multiforme). CCF-STTG1 cells exhibit typical astrocyte-like morphology with adherent culture properties. This human cell line contained large numbers of tetra-, hexa-, and higher-ploid cells (2s populations) In vitro, CCF-STTG1 cells demonstrate a high proliferative capacity and have been widely used in studies related to astrocyte biology, neuroinflammation, glioma pathogenesis, and central nervous system (CNS) tumor research.
