A human ovarian epithelial-endometroid carcinoma cell line established from a pleural effusion. Anchorage-independent growth in agar has been reported. The cell line COV362.4 is a subclone of this cell line.

    COV362 is a human ovarian epithelial-endometrioid carcinoma cell line that was originally isolated from the pleural effusion of an age-unspecified female patient with high-grade ovarian serous adenocarcinoma (HGSOC). COV362 exhibits epithelial-like morphology with polygonal and fusiform cell shape and adherent culture properties. It demonstrates anchorage-independent growth in agar and exhibits prominent structural rearrangements in chromosomes 1, 3, 7, and 11. COV362 carrying TP53 and BRCA1 gene mutation. It is tumorigenic in a nude mouse model but is normally considered as either subcutaneous or intraperitoneal xenografts.
