  • Description
    The COV434 cell line is a human ovarian cancer cell line established from a solid primary ovarian tumor in a 26- to 27-year-old female patient. COV434 cells show epithelial-like morphology, polygonal shape, and adherent growth in DMEM with 10% FBS at 37°C, 5% CO₂. They possess a near-diploid karyotype with low chromosomal complexity and show loss of SMARCA4 and SMARCA2, while SMARCB1/INI1 remains intact. These cells express FSH receptor, aromatase, AE1/AE3, and Toll-like receptors but lack LH receptor. They constitutively secrete IL-8, supporting immune-oncology research. In vivo, COV434 is tumorigenic, forming tumors with elevated serum calcium—a hallmark of SCCOHT—though migratory and invasive potential is limited.
