Cell Name: H1975

The line was established in July 1988. The tissue donor was a non-smoker.

  • Description
H1975 is a human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line derived from the lung tissue of a White female patient with NSCLC. This epithelial-like cell line exhibits adherent culture properties with a doubling time of approximately 40 hours. Genetically, it harbors two key EGFR mutations, including L858R and T790M. In addition, H1975 carries a TP53 mutations, contributing to its oncogenic potential. The cell line demonstrates tumorigenic potential in immunocompromised mice, forming subcutaneous xenografts, making them a well-established model for EGFR-driven oncogenesis and therapeutic resistance.

  • Application
H1975 is a widely used model in immuno-oncology and lung cancer research, particularly for investigating epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation-driven tumorigenesis and TKI resistance mechanisms. Its dual EGFR mutations make it an ideal platform for preclinical evaluation of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors and combination therapies aiding in the development of strategies to overcome this resistance. Additionally, they are employed in 3D cell culture models, xenograft models, and immune-oncology research to assess drug responses in a physiologically relevant context. Therefore, H1975 remains a cornerstone in development of potential therapeutic interventions for EGFR-mutant NSCLC.
