Notably, combined treatment with wild type p53 (wt-p53)-encoding adenovirus infection and X-irradiation has shown superior effectiveness in inhibiting cancer cell growth, in HSC4 cells with accumulated mutant p53. Moreover, HSC-4 is used to investigate and identify cancer stem-like cells that play crucial roles in chemoresistance, radioresistance, and metastasis, contributing to a deeper understanding of cancer progression and treatment resistance.
