Cell Name: Human Alzehimer’s Disease Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells

  • Description
Human Alzheimer’s Disease Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) are immune cells isolated from the peripheral blood of patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD), primarily comprising lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells) and monocytes. Morphologically, PBMCs are typically small, round cells. PBMCs play a critical role in immune regulation and neuroinflammation. AD-associated PBMCs often exhibit abnormal cytokine secretion (e.g., elevated TNF-α, IL-6), and altered T-cell responses, reflecting systemic immune dysfunction linked to AD pathogenesis. These cells are implicated in the peripheral inflammatory cascade that may exacerbate central nervous system pathology, including β-amyloid deposition and tau hyperphosphorylation.

  • Application
Human Alzheimer’s Disease Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells can be used to study how the peripheral immune system participates in the neurodegenerative process of AD through pathways such as inflammatory factor release and cell migration, especially their role in impaired β-amyloid clearance and neuroinflammation. They can also be used to evaluate the efficacy of anti-inflammatory drugs or immunomodulatory agents.
