Human Ankylosing Spondylitis Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells are derived from the peripheral blood of patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS), a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease primarily affecting the axial skeleton. These cells primarily include lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells) and monocytes. AS-PBMCs play a central role in AS pathogenesis by mediating aberrant immune responses. They exhibit pro-inflammatory activation, with elevated secretion of cytokines (e.g., TNF-α, IL-17, IL-23) and dysregulated T-cell subsets (e.g., Th17 expansion).
