Cell Name: Human C. Difficile Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells

  • Description
Human Clostridioides Difficile Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells are derived from peripheral blood, mainly comprising lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells) and monocytes. In Clostridium difficile infection (CDI), PBMCs play a key role through immune regulation: T cells (such as Th1/Th17) mediate inflammatory responses, while regulatory T cells (Treg) inhibit excessive immune responses; monocytes differentiate into macrophages and participate in pathogen clearance. PBMCs in CDI patients may show abnormal activation, resulting to cytokine storms (such as increased IL-1β and TNF-α), which are related to the severity of the disease.
