  • Description
    Human Cord Blood CD14⁺ Monocytes are primary immune cells isolated from healthy human umbilical cord blood and belong to the monocyte lineage. Characterized by high CD14 expression and variable CD16, they display round or oval morphology, granular cytoplasm, and suspension growth. These non-proliferative cells are precursors to macrophages and dendritic cells, capable of phagocytosis, antigen presentation, and cytokine secretion (e.g., TNF-α, IL-6). Involved in host defense, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and transplant immunology, they play a central role in both innate and adaptive immunity. These cells are express of CD14, CD16, and HLA-DR. Their responsiveness to pathogens makes them ideal for studying immune responses and monocyte-to-macrophage differentiation.
