  • Description
    Human glomerular microvascular endothelial cells (HGMECs), originally isolated from th glomerular microvasculature of normal human kidney tissue obtained from healthy adult donors, characterized by their fenestrated morphology and tight monolayer growth pattern under standard culture conditions. HGMECs regulate vasomotor tone, blood coagulation, and selective leukocyte trafficking. The presence of fenestrations (approximately 50–100 nm) allows selective permeability, contributing to their specialized filtration function. HGMECs exhibit normal diploid karyotypes and express typical endothelial markers such as CD31 (PECAM-1), von Willebrand Factor (vWF), and VE-Cadherin (CD144), confirmed via immunocytochemistry and flow cytometry. The cells are collected from disease-free tissues and are provided at low passage (P3–P6) to preserve their physiological characteristics and proliferative capacity. While HGMECs are capable of multiple passages under optimized culture conditions, they are not immortalized and have limited replicative lifespan.
