    Human neurons, also known as nerve cells, are isolated from human brain tissue. They are primarily located in the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord. Human neurons can be classified into three main types: sensory neurons, which relay information from sensory organs to the CNS; motor neurons, which carry signals from the CNS to muscles and glands; and interneurons, which facilitate communication between neurons within the CNS.These primary neurons are typically used at low passage numbers (P0–P2) due to their limited capacity to divide in vitro. These cells exhibit remarkable plasticity, allowing them to adapt and form complex neural networks essential for cognition, memory, and behavior. However, neuronal dysfunction or degeneration is closely linked to various neurological disorders, including Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Schizophrenia.
