Cell Name: Human Osteocytes

  • Description
Human Osteocyte Primary Cells are derived from human bone marrow tissue. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. Osteocytes are terminally differentiated cells embedded within the mineralized bone matrix. They are essential regulators of bone remodeling and mineral homeostasis. Osteocytes play critical roles in mechanosensation and signal transduction within the skeletal system. Studies have demonstrated that osteocytes are involved in the pathogenesis and progression of various bone diseases, such as osteoporosis and osteoarthritis. In vitro, these cells do not proliferate and cannot be subcultured. To maintain cellular viability and function, repeated freezing and thawing during culture should be avoided.
