Cell Name: Human Parkinson’s Disease Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells

  • Description
Human Parkinson’s Disease Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells are a group of immune cells derived from the peripheral blood of patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), mainly including lymphocytes (T cells, B cells, NK cells) and monocytes. These cells are morphologically chaeacterized as round or oval mononuclear cells. PBMCs play a central role in immune regulation and participate in inflammatory responses, antigen presentation, and cytotoxicity. Studies have shown that PBMCs in patients with PD have mitochondrial dysfunction, enhanced oxidative stress, and abnormal aggregation of α-synuclein, and these changes may be associated with the neurodegenerative process of PD.

  • Application
Human Parkinson’s Disease Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells can be used to study the immune dysregulation mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases, such as the release of inflammatory factors cytokines (e.g.,TNF-α), mitochondrial dysfunction, and abnormal metabolism of α-synuclein. These cells can also be used as a source of disease biomarkers to assist in the early diagnosis of PD and monitoring of disease progression by detecting specific gene expression (such as LRRK2) or epigenetic modifications.
