Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. Seminal vesicle epithelial cells play an essential role in the secretion of seminal fluid, contributing to sperm viability and motility by providing nutrients and an optimal microenvironment. These epithelial cells form a secretory lining and are involved in hormone-responsive functions. In vitro, seminal vesicle epithelial cells are commonly used in studies related to reproductive physiology, hormonal regulation, and prostate-associated pathologies. These cells do not proliferate indefinitely and cannot be continuously passaged. Repeated freezing and thawing should be avoided during culture.
