Description

Human Vocal Fold Epithelial Cells (HVFECs) are crucial cells located in the epithelial layer of the vocal folds. These cells line the surface of the vocal folds and play a vital role in voice production, vocal fold maintenance, and tissue repair. HVFECs are involved in forming a protective barrier against environmental insults and mechanical stress, and they contribute to the maintenance of vocal fold hydration and elasticity by producing and regulating the extracellular matrix components. Additionally, they are essential for the mucosal defense of the vocal folds, as they secrete mucus and antimicrobial peptides that help prevent infections. Our Human Vocal Fold Epithelial Cells are isolated from human vocal fold tissue, cryopreserved at passage one and delivered frozen. Each vial contains >5 × 105 cells in 1mL volume.
