Cell Name: IST MES2

Species: human, Caucasian male 71 years old; Tissue: pleural effusion; Tumor: mesothelioma.

  • Description
IST MES2 is an epithelial-like cell that was originally isolated from the pleural effusion of a 71-year-old, Caucasian male patient with malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM). IST MES2 exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent culture properties. IST MES2 cell are able to express stemness markers such as CD24, ABCG2 and OCT4 that it can be utilised in the research for mechanisms of MPM drug resistance and metastasis. In certain culture condition, IST MES2 cell can growth as a non-adherent spherical clusters to study the tumor infiltration cells in mesothelioma.
