    MKL-1 is a human skin neuroendocrine carcinoma cell line that was originally isolated from the lymph node of a 26-year-old patient with Merkel cell carcinoma. MKL-1 exhibits epithelial-like morphology and suspension culture properties. This cell line is aneuploid; it displays chromosomal counts within the hyperdiploid range. MKL-1 is tumorigenic and metastatic.
