    Monkey Aortic Endothelial Cells are derived from the aorta of monkeys. Following primary culture, these cells are cryopreserved. They express von Willebrand factor (vWF, also known as factor VIII-related antigen), and exhibit functional uptake of acetylated low-density lipoprotein (Ac-LDL). Monkey Aortic Endothelial Cells have been shown to participate in the induction of pancreatic bud formation and the differentiation of adjacent endodermal insulin-producing cells. Studies have also indicated that these cells are involved in arterial wall inflammation. In vitro, these cells do not proliferate and cannot be passaged, and repeated freezing and thawing during culture should be avoided.
