Cell Name: Mouse Splenocytes

  • Description
Mouse Splenocytes are primary immune cells isolated from the spleen tissue of mice (Mus musculus), They constitute a heterogeneous population of lymphocytes, including T-cells, B-cells, Natural Killer (NK) cells, and NKT-cell. These cells are derived from normal, disease-free donors and are cryopreserved after isolation to maintain high viability and functionality. Morphologically, splenocytes are mononuclear and maintained in suspension culture. They play an important role in adaptive immunity, including antigen presentation, antibody production, and cytokine secretion. They are widely utilized in research on autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis. These cells express characteristic surface markers like CD3 (T-cells), CD19/CD45R (B-cells), CD4 (helper T-cells), and CD8 (cytotoxic T-cells). Due to their sensitivity to freeze-thaw cycles, repeated cryopreservation should be avoided to preserve cell integrity.
