  • Description
    The NB-1 cell line is a human neuroblastoma cell line originally isolated from the cervical lymph node metastasis of a 2-year-old male patient with neuroblastoma. This cell line exhibits a neuronal-like morphology. NB-1 grows semi-adherently and achieving a doubling time of 40–60 hours. Karyotypic analysis reveals ALK gene amplification (2p23 locus) and a novel truncated ALK variant (ALKdel2-3) lacking exons 2–3, and harbors chromosomal instability, including 1p deletion and 17q gain. NB-1 also overexpresses GD2, a tumor-associated ganglioside. This cell line is tumorigenic, forming subcutaneous tumors in nude mice, and exhibits enhanced metastatic potential in experimental models.
