    OSC-19 is a human squamous cell cancer cell line that was originally isolated from the tongue tissue of a 61-year-old East Asian male patient with tongue squamous cell carcinoma. OSC-19 exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent culture properties. The characteristic of cultured OSC-19 is lower proliferating activity, lower secretion of laminin, and higher secretion of fibronectin. In addition, OSC-19 is sensitive to EGF treatment. A study utilized a xenotransplantation model to investigate the metastasis mechanism of oral cancer; this work confirmed that OSC-19 is tumorigenic and causes lymph node metastasis.
