Description

OVKATE is a human ovarian cancer cell line that was originally isolated from the solid tumor of a patient with serous papillary adenocarcinoma. OVKATE exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent culture properties. This cell line expresses a variety of cytokeratins (CK6, 7, 8, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 15 ,and/or 16), and is positive for vimentin, epithelial membrane antigen (EMA), and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It is negative for desmin, S-100, myoglobin, type II collagen, α-smooth muscle actin, and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). OVKATE is tumorigenic.
