Description

RK13 is a rabbit epithelial cell line that was originally isolated from the kidney of a rabbit. RK13 exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent culture properties. RK13 is a spontaneously immortalized cell line. This cell line is tested positive for keratin protein expression and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV). RK13 are susceptible to infection by multiple viruses such as HPV, HSV, rabbitpox virus, vaccinia virus, SARS coronavirus, and a range of simian adenovirus subtypes. Therefore, it can be used to establish a host transfection model.
