    The SF-126 cell line is a human glioblastoma model originally isolated from a 50-year-old female patient’s astrocytoma tissue in the left frontal lobe. These tumor cells exhibit fibroblast-like morphology with adherent growth properties. Karyotype analysis reveals aneuploidy with chromosome counts ranging from 43 to 47, indicative of genomic instability characteristic of aggressive gliomas . SF-126 lacks glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression due to promoter hypermethylation, a feature associated with high-grade astrocytomas. The cells demonstrate tumorigenic potential in xenograft models, with studies showing intracranial tumor formation in immunocompromised mice.
