Description

UACC-62 is a human melanoma cell line derived from the skin of a female patient with melanotic melanoma. It grows adherently with polygonal, irregular morphology, prominent nucleoli, and malignant melanocyte features. UACC-62 has stable passage potential and is used at low to moderate passages. The karyotype is near-triploid (modal 69; range 58–80), indicating chromosomal instability. It harbors the BRAF V600E mutation and is NRAS wild-type. The cells express melanoma markers HMB-45, S100, and MART-1. These cells are widely used in drug screening, melanoma biology, and resistance research.
