Description

VMRC-RCW is a human renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cell line that was originally established from the metastatic site of a 46-year-old Japanese male patient with clear cell renal cell carcinoma. VMRC-RCW exhibits epithelial-like morphology and adherent growth characteristics. The stemline karyotype model number of VMRC-RCW is 67 with a range from 65 to 70. This cell line is aneuploid; it displays chromosomal counts within the near-triploid range. VMRC-RCW is tumorigenic. When injected subcutaneously into immunodeficient nude mice, it forms palpable tumors, making it a valuable in vitro and in vivo model for studying renal cancer biology, drug resistance, and metastasis mechanisms.
